SIWES REPORT ON A RADIO STATION

                                                  CHAPTER ONE
  INTRODUCTION
1. ABOUT SIWES
SIWES stands for acronym for Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme.
The Student Industrial Work-Experience Scheme (SIWES) is a planned and supervised training intervention based on stated and specific learning and career objectives, and geared towards developing the occupational competencies of the participants. It is a programme required to be undertaken by all students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria pursuing courses in “specialized engineering, technical, business, applied sciences and applied arts”. The federal government on 8th October 1971 established the industrial training (ITF) in order to acquaint the students on the industrial work method. The SIWES which is a subsidiary formed in 1973 was initiated to improve the students’ technical abilities to expose them to industrial culture thereby getting the acquainted with the role to play towards the technological advancement of the nation. It creates an avenue on environment in which the students are being exposed to areas of their various disciplines which enhances their mental and creative minds in the aspects of technology and development. . It creates an avenue on environment in which the students are being exposed to areas of their various disciplines which enhances their mental and creative minds in the aspects of technology and development. It is therefore a practical aspect of the academic work, which students may not be opportune to carry out throughout their stay in the higher institution.

1.1 IMPORTANCE AND OBJECTIVES OF SIWES
The Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) is the accepted skills training programme, which forms part of the approved minimum academic standards in the various degree programmes for all the Nigerian universities. It is an effort to bridge the gap existing between theory and practice of engineering and technology, science, agriculture, medial, management and other professional educational programmes in the Nigerian tertiary institutions. It is aimed at exposing students to machines and equipment, professional work methods and ways of safe-guarding the work area s and workers in industries and other organization.
1.2 OBJECTIVES OF SIWES
Specifically, the objectives of the students industrial work experience scheme are to
i.)   Prepare students for the work situation they are likely to meet  after                graduation.
ii.)     Provide an avenue for students in  the  Nigerian Universities  to  acquire industrial skills and experience in their  course of study.
iii.)    Make the transition from the university to the

Hate And Irresponsibility, The Buhari example

Download Just imagine that Charles Ogbu was head of media for the Jonathan administration. Read how he decimated the Buhari presidency and exposed the hypocrisy behind this biggest recruitment error in history.

Read

Hate And Irresponsibility, The Buhari example:

If only president Muhammadu Buhari, his entire team and their online #ChildrenOfChange had deployed at least 20% of the time and resources invested in painting Jonathan and his team in bad light towards delivering the much needed #change to millions of Nigerians who had faith in them, maybe....just maybe, we wouldn't be in this mess today.

But no,

Resorting to devilish lies and demonic propaganda --all driven by hate-- against the person of the former president Jonathan was apparently the number one and arguably the only agenda of the Buhari-led APC government.

"By fire by force, Jonathan must be made to look like the devil. We must twist history and present him (GEJ) as the biggest thief in Nigerian history.  Whatever we do, we must always blame Jonathan. Even if we fail in our 'husbandly' duty to our wives, we must always blame it on Jonathan. Remember, Nigerians believed me when I told them I had an Igbo cook and driver plus a son-in-law from Anambra state. They equally believe I could make one naira equal to one dollar. Getting them to believe Jonathan stole Asorock is no big deal"

HOW WE HUMANS REACT TO NEW TRENDS.

HOW WE HUMANS REACT TO NEW TRENDS.
One of the characteristics of human beings is adaptation.
Adaptation which means adjustment to extant conditions; as adjustment of a sense organ to the intensity or quality of stimulation; modification of something or its parts that makes it fits more for existence under the condition of its current environment. This adaptation comes in different forms and aspects. We get to adjust our lifestyle anytime there is a new trend or a new way of doing things . This adjustment can be technical, technological, ethical, moral and so on. All this is what humans must adapt to anytime there is a change in each aspect.
Locations matters a lot about how one adapt. In a case where you have lived in a placed for a long time then you relocate to a different place where you meet people with a different lifestyle ,this is where the adaptation feature in humans speaks. For the first few days or weeks or months things might be difficult for you or certain things you see there or the people do might look awkward to you until you get to adapt to the new environment. In every part of the world each settlement or location has their pattern of life such as the dressing ,food, culture, economy and lots more. These are what we get to adapt to once your away from your normal routines( former location).

(True life story) Desperate Homosexual Parades Himself As a Pastor Just To Satisfy Himself.

(True life story)
Desperate Homosexual Parades Himself As a Pastor Just To Satisfy Himself.

Our society today has turned into something else. These things happen. On a very sunny Saturday afternoon, I was on my way to Enugu when I met a man who paraded himself as a servant of God ( pastor) in a church named Dominion city. He said to me and I quote “ My brother are you an entertainer? Or do you sing and I told him No. He insisted and said to me saying my brother I see you have a hidden talent which you are about to discover. He said I am a great person and it must not be in the music industry but that I am a celebrity. At long last he said i should try and meet with him on a special occasion. He took my number and we parted ways though he was also coming to Enugu as well. After all this I had my doubts but in other not to conclude I suppressed the thought of paying him no attention. When i got to Enugu that evening

THE NIGERIAN WESTERN LIFESTYLE (DRESS SENSE)

THE NIGERIAN WESTERN LIFESTYLE (DRESS SENSE)

Nigerians are well known for depicting their culture by their dressing, food ,language, dances etc. This trend has been going on for several years as various  the three known ethnic groups in Nigeria are almost best identified by their dressing. Dressing in Nigeria means a lot .
Your dressing tells your emotions or condition.
Ones dressing also talks about his religion and belief.
It also identifies the tribe the person is from.
Your dressing shows the activity your into or the activity you are about to do.
Dressing depicts your moral behavior.
Ones dressing can also describe him.
Dressing also tells about some ones gender.
Time has come to revolutionize dressing (fashion). Now dressing according to morals and ethnicity doesn’t matter as the western fashion has taken over our traditional outfits or dresses .This trend is wiping out our local way of dressing as you now find it hard to differentiate various ethnic groups through dressing. Everyone now is following the trend . Wearing designer clothes and shoes ,expensive watches, make ups and lots of other accessories. My question is “ Is this trend helping us or devaluing our ethnic values and moral etiquette? “

LIFE AFTER CIVIL SERVICE

                           LIFE AFTER CIVIL SERVICE
Civil servants are people employed in the civil service; a government employee. The civil servants are like grease to the development of a country and also they are the very engine that drives the development of a country and the growth of its economy. The civil servants in Nigeria have a minimum of 35 years in service to give his best to the country’s development. Lately this very branch of a nation is now been overlooked and it is crumbling. Pension scheme is what makes life easy after retirement, so it plays a very important role in a nation. Gratuity is a reward, service or payment provided freely without obligation. Civil servants are entitled to pension and gratuity after there years of service but this is now been denied of them in this country. The government should look into the vario

GRINDING AND PARTICLE SIZE ANALYSIS

PRACTICAL 1
TITLE: GRINDING AND PARTICLE SIZE ANALYSIS
AIM: TO DETERMINE THE EFFICIENCY OF A BALL MILL
APPARATUS AND THEIR USES:
500g of crushed limestone.
A ball mill with steel balls: it is a powered machine used for grinding the crushed mineral. It reduces the limestone to about 10-300 micron.
A generator: it powers the ball mill and the weighing machine.
Analytical weighing machine: used for taking the mass of the particles from sieves of different size.
Laboratory sieve: it is used for classifying the particles into different sizes. We have sieves with screen size 2000,1180, 600, 425, 300, 212, 63, 38, pan.
A hand brush for clearing the ground particles on the inner walls of the ball mill.

PROCEDURE FOR THE EXPERIMENT:
The already crushed limestone is fed into the ball mill for further liberation. The ball mill grinds it for 10minutes, powered by a standby generator.
After 10 minutes, the ground limestone is poured out and the walls of the ball mill, is cleared with the aid of the hand brush.
The ground limestone is placed on the weighing machine where a mass of 420g which is our feed size is obtained.
The ground limestone of mass 420g is fed into the sieves with sizes arranged in the order of 2000,1180,600,425,300,212,63,38,pan. The pan is shaking so that the particles will move gradually down to the pan; duration about 20-30 minutes.
The particles left on each sieve (over size), is poured out and weighed so as to obtain the weight retained.

OCCUPATION IN NIGERIA

                              OCCUPATION IN NIGERIA
Occupation known to us can be said to be activities which people engage themselves in order to earn a living .The battle of survival in our present day society is not by any means easy. Human beings have unlimited wants while the resources which are meant to satisfy these wants are limited. In order to satisfy these wants people engage themselves in occupations at least to meet up with the three basic needs of man which are CLOTHING,FOOD,SHELTER.

ADVERTISING (Commerce)

ADVERTISING
 Advertising as commerce.

Advertising is concerned with the introduction of a product or services to the prospective customer or consumer.

Advertising points out the quality of the product and the characteristics of the product when companies produce similar products they distinguish there own product by qualifying the best example: close-up ,macleans ,sensodyne ,dabour herbal etc. They are all the same product but different manufacturers .Advertising is therefore a means where by the manufacturers tells or educate their prospective buyers about there products. It creates awareness and builds up a good image of the product so that customers will buy the product.

Nano Composites and their Applications

ABSTRACT

Nanocomposites, a high performance material exhibit unusual property combinations and unique design possibilities. With an estimated annual growth rate of about 25% and fastest demand to be in engineering plastics and elastomers, their potential is so striking that they are useful in several areas ranging from packaging to biomedical applications. In this unified overview the three types of matrix nanocomposites are presented underlining the need for these materials, their processing methods and some recent results on structure, properties and potential applications, perspectives including need for such materials in future space mission and other interesting applications together with market and safety aspects. Possible uses of natural materials such as clay based minerals, chrysotile and lignocellulosic fibers are highlighted. Being environmentally friendly, applications of nanocomposites offer new technology and business opportunities for several sectors of the aerospace, automotive, electronics and biotechnology industries.

                                                               INTRODUCTION
NANO COMPOSITES
Nanomaterials
Nanomaterials describe, in principle, materials of which a single unit is sized (in at least one dimension) between 1 and 1000 nanometres (10−9 meter) but is usually 1—100 nm (the usual definition of nanoscale    [1]).
Nanomaterials research takes a materials science-based approach to nanotechnology, leveraging advances in materials metrology and synthesis which have been developed in support of microfabrication research. Materials with structure at the nanoscale often have unique optical, electronic, or mechanical properties.
Nanocomposite is a multiphase solid material where one of the phases has one, two or three dimensions of less than 100 nanometers (nm), or structures having nano-scale repeat distances between the different phases that make up the material. In the broadest sense this definition can include porous media, colloids, gels and copolymers, but is more usually taken to mean the solid combination of a bulk

POEM :#JeSuisMoi

For centuries, we have bent to their cruelty
Like a slave to her master's loyalty
We have cried them tears and bled them blood
Knelt at their toes, called them brother and called them Lord

But no more we say, no more
We will bare our chests of the shirts they tore
We will tear the threads with which our mouths were sown
We will scream of pain in the loudest tone

Let them throw dynamites at our feet
And pile our headless bodies in their pits
Let them slit our throats like cows in the slaughter
And deride in their evil laughter

POEM : MOTHERLY LOVE

All your bones you broke
Screaming and wailing as I caused you pain
In one loud cry of inexplicably sweet pain
You gave birth to love

Every morning, you smiled at me
Yet I'd bite at your breast
You'd bathe, feed and sing me a song
But I'd still cry you up in the midnight

I recall when you'd buy me very nice toys
Yet I'd still break your favorite plate
You'd buy me the most fashionable wears
And I'd still soil your sweetest gown

Poem # hardwork

I had always been too scared to walk too far
I always thought it would leave a scar
I always thought my feet would fail me
I had always been too scared to see

I had always been eager to give my best
I always thought I couldn't do the rest
I always thought my best was enough
I had always been too scared to have it rough

I had always been too scared to take the risk
I always thought I didn't have to frisk
I always thought I had no inner grenade
I had always been too scared to leave the shade

I had always thought everything had limits
I always thought of that point I couldn't meet
I always thought there was a high standard
I had always been too scared to work that hard

But now I know better
There's no such thing as too far
There are no limits
Except the ones you're yet to meet
No best is enough
Because you're that tough
History is written by the winners
Achievements are made by hard workers

S.I.W.E.S REPORT ON DRILLING AND MINING

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION TO STUDENTS INDUSTRIAL WORK EXPERIENCE SCHEME (S.I.W.E.S)
OVERVIEW OF SIWES
Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (S.I.W.E.S) was established by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) in 1973. It is a mandatory skill acquisition and training programmed, designed to expose students to the industrial workplace environment in their respective disciplines during their course of study. The students are expected to develop occupational competencies that would facilitate their fitting into the world of work after graduation.
